The IKEA Museum is the story of IKEA. In the past, in the present and into the future. What happens when IKEA products are made into art? Or completely new design objects? IKEA hacking can be done for a variety of reasons. Some need a taller stool for the kids to reach the kitchen table. Some like to tinker at bit to make funny lamp. And others are full-blown artists creating art installations.
For whatever reason, IKEA seems to provide inspiration and the materials needed. Kvorning was invited to bid on The IKEA effect – IKEA by you; a Brand Experience at the IKEA Museum dealing with IKEA hacking. Why does IKEA affect the many people? How does it manifest itself? What are the consequences? How does this affect IKEA?
An analog and virtual exhibition inviting user involvement and adapting continuously to the needs of visitors, artists and the hacks produced during the exhibition period. Kvorning presented a full turn-key solution as well as a combined Kvorning / IKEA Museum solution – concept, scenographic elements, audio visuals, interactivity, digital and hands-on.
