CLIENT: PETTER DASS MUSEUM
PROJECT: PERMANENT EXHIBITION
LOCATION: ALSTAHAUG, NORWAY
Kvorning Design & Communication won the main exhibition at the Petter Dass Museum in international competition for the Petter Dass Museum in Alstahaug in Norway. The museum facilitates the cultural heritage left by the poet-priest Petter Dass (c. 1647-1707). The museum was designed by Snøhetta.
The main exhibition has a modern base, with an inviting and richly symbolic design. Text and pictures in many formats, objects and listening stations present knowledge and information in a way that provides food for thought and reflection. Interactive screens offer further immersion, word games and knowledge tests.
The monitors on the exhibition walls are continually interrupted by short films about the four seasons, an artistic interpretation of quotes from the poem The Trumpet of Nordland. These features were created by Kvorning in association with cinematographer Sten Georg, with music by the composer Bodvar Moe.
