‘Stories from Cold War Hotspots’ exhibition opened today at the Norwegian Aviation Museum in Bodø. The exhibition is the museum’s highlight contribution to ‘Bodø 2024-European Capital of Culture.’

You can stroll around the exhibition and listen to and watch interviews with young and old Europeans from Eastern and Western Europe who talk about the fear of nuclear war, the hope and joy when the Iron Curtain disappeared and the anxiety about the future. In the middle stands the museum’s nuclear rocket ‘Honest John’ as a physical reminder of what we have actually avoided.
